October 21: Planning for an Equitable Future

About this Speaker

Jessie is currently the Director of the Office of Block Grant Assistance at HUD, following a stint as senior advisor to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Grant Programs. This office sets national policy for the $3.4 billion annual Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, Section 108 Loan Guarantees, the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, and the new $5 billion CDBG CARES Act grants (CDBG-CV) and the Recovery Housing Program pilot. The office is also responsible for major CDBG disaster recovery and mitigation grants (CDBG-DR, and CDBG-MIT). In her three decades at HUD, Jessie is a proven innovator of policy design for national community development programs and a strong advocate for transparent information technology for reporting and analyzing results.
